OS X 10.4 Tiger

ClapperI noticed a couple of things after upgrading from 10.3 Panther to 10.4 Tiger. Panther was running on my Powerbook G4 with all the latest updates and nothing unusual installed. After performing the upgrade, I noticed a couple of issues. iSync would not work at all and my what had been super fast Mac was running noticeably slower. I was concerned about the iSync, but figured it was just a file issue and decided to look at it later. After a couple of weeks of running a slower Mac, and having performed routine maintainence until it came out of my ears, I decided it was time to do something about it.

I know that there is a consensus among users that a clean install is best (I would never do anything else on the PC), but I thought (this being my first Mac) I’d give the upgrade a try first. Now it was clear that I should just do the clean install: calling the Apple helpline confirmed this. Apparently internally Apple have had a problem with a few things including ‘Stickies’ on upgraded machines!?
